The Nigerian Monarch, Eze-Nwanyi Ugwunwa Ajike has revealed details of an extraordinary African Union Summit held in Libya when Colonel Gaddafi was President of the African Union.
Recalling back almost a decade, Eze-Nwanyi Ugwunwa Ajike has reflected on the time she was personally asked by Libyan President Colonel Muammar Gaddafi to interview all of the Heads of States attending the summit.
Eze-Nwanyi Ugwunwa Ajike is the daughter of K.K, who at the time was the head of the Nigerian police and a powerful politician. It was through this connection, and the fact she is a trained actress, that she was offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
In an interview Eze-Nwanyi Ugwunwa Ajike said: “Colonel Gaddafi’s aim was to try to create a United States of Africa. This event was a forum to celebrate African achievements and successes and develop strategies to express their culture in a very positive way.

“The event was actually kept a secret apart from those guests invited. I was just expecting the African Heads of State to attend, but in fact all the Presidents from the African Countries and Prime Ministers from the Caribbean also turned up. My job was to present the event and to interview all of the Heads of State. It was a great honour to be invited to undertake the role and Colonel Gaddafi personally congratulated me for the way it was conducted.
“It was a very positive event – all of the visiting Presidents and Prime Ministers were very welcoming to me, and very positive about the future prospects for their countries and the continent as a whole and how they could work together for a United Africa.
“For me it was an incredible opportunity to personally meet all these great people. There was a great energy to the event, Libya is an amazing country, and it really felt as though the African Continent was embarking on an exciting new journey.”
While the concept of a United States of Africa never materialised, Eze-Nwanyi Ugwunwa Ajike is now a Queen, an entrepreneur and actress, with a string of businesses including a hotel group, a film production company and an online movie platform
