1. Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation has raised the alarm over alleged plot to assassinate him.

The Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and a critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, disclosed this on Wednesday on his Twitter page, claiming that those conspiring to kill him have been identified.

2. The Nigerian government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has reacted to the report of forceful eviction of Nigeria High Commission in Accra, Ghana.

Spokesman of the Ministry, Ferdinand Nwonye, said the High Commission was neither evicted from its chancery nor its residence but from one of its official quarters in Accra.

3. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, has killed several Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) at Abulam in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno.

Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information in a statement on Wednesday, said its men also destroyed some of the terrorists’ structures in their camp at Abulam.

4. Charismatic Roman Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (Amen), Fr Ejike Mbaka, is at it again.

The Enugu cleric, who is known for his controversial prophecies, in his New Year message, said Senator Hope Uzodimma would be sworn in as governor of Imo State.

5. A coalition of northern youths has backed the South South region to produce the country’s next President after Muhammadu Buhari.

The coalition, under the umbrella of Arewa Youths Assembly, said the search has started for a South-South candidate between the age brackets of 40-50 years for the position, saying it is unfair and wicked for the North to succeed President Buhari.

6. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday said President Muhammadu Buhari should withdraw his unnecessary remark in his new year message about “standing down” in 2023, because he and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), would have no other option than to exit office at the end of this tenure.

PDP made the remark stressing that Buhari’s New Year message was completely uninspiring, tasteless, repetitive, vacuous and does not galvanize any form of hope for a despairing nation like ours.

7. Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, is now on the list of 100 richest people in the world.

He became $4.3 billion richer in 2019 with earnings from cement, flour and sugar, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a net worth of almost $15 billion, making him the 96th wealthiest man on earth.

8. Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, (APC- Nasarawa), on Wednesday, said President Muhammadu Buhari needs Nigerians’ prayers.

He said this was to enable his administration surmount social, security and economic challenges facing the country in 2020.

9. The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Command in Ogun, on Wednesday confirmed the death of one person following an auto crash around J3, on Ijebu Ode-Ore Expressway.

Mr Clement Oladele, the state FRSC Sector Commander, said that the lone accident happened at about 11.25 pm on Tuesday involving a Toyota Sienna Bus, with registration number, FKJ 453XW, which was on a high speed when it tyres burst and in the process lost control and somersaulted into the bush.

10. Pa Adama Aduku, a 104-year-old World War ll veteran of the Nigerian Army, has passed away.

According to a statement by The Nigerian Army, Pa. Aduku, who was born 1918 at Abejukolo-Ife, at Omaha Local Government Area of Kogi State, Aduku and joined the army in 1945, died Tuesday, December 31, 2019.
