The news on the dislodgment of NIDCOM from their temporary office came as a rude surprise to Nigerians in Diaspora.
This is shocking and a slap on the face of Nigerians in Diaspora who has been supporting the Nation with all their resources and technical knowhow. To start with , it took a very long time time for the Diasporans to have their own commission and now no permanent office space was allocated to the commission by the Federal Government.
In many other countries they even have a ministry of their own ( Ministry of Diaspora Affairs) with a very senior minister in charge.

This would be the second time within the a month that the Diasporans would be having issues with the Federal Government, it start with the failure of the government to constitute the NIDCOM board one year after her establishment this even lead to unjustified attack on the person of Hon. Abike DABIRI-EREWA who has nothing to do with the nomination of the board members as this is the responsibility of Mr President.
If the Federal Government could fail us in a small issues like these how could we then trust them in fulfilling their promise of Diaspora voting.
This action by the Hon. Minister of communication and digital economy should not be seen as an attack on the Chairman/CEO of NIDCOM Hon. Abike DABIRI-EREWA or the commission as a whole but an attack on the entire Nigerians in Diaspora.
I therefore appeal on the Federal Government and President Muhammad Buhari to use his good office to do the right thing and provide a permanent site for the commission with immediate effect.
We have thousands of unoccupied buildings all over Abuja that could be allocated to the commission as office space.
Millions of Nigerians living in Diaspora are monitoring the development.
