As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering inclusion, celebrating female excellence, and enhancing women’s participation across technical and professional sectors, NNPC Retail Limited (NNPC Retail), a subsidiary of NNPC Limited, hosted the second edition of its flagship women-focused initiative, She-Fix 2.0, in Abuja on Saturday.
Held under the theme “Driving Diversity, Powering Progress,” the event attracted over 300 participants, including women professionals, entrepreneurs, emerging technicians, and leaders within the energy industry.
In her address, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, underscored the critical role of inclusion in national development. She advocated for expanded opportunities for women in technical and STEM-related fields and commended NNPC Retail for its foresight in establishing the initiative.
The Minister further emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between government and the private sector to scale such impactful programmes.
Delivering the keynote address, the Executive Vice President, Business Services, NNPC Limited, Sophia Mbakwe, highlighted the significant contributions of women across all levels of the organisation. She noted that NNPC Retail, as the company’s primary interface with the public, reflects the strategic importance of diversity in driving business success and societal impact.

The Managing Director of NNPC Retail Limited, Huub Stokman, represented by the Executive Director, Finance, Valentina Kojo, emphasized that women’s empowerment must be practical, visible, and sustainable to achieve meaningful outcomes.
In his remarks, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Limited, Andy Odeh, stated that women in today’s energy sector are at the forefront of transformation—leading innovation, strengthening institutions, and reshaping the narrative of a rapidly evolving industry. He reiterated that when women lead, value is created, and organisations, as well as societies, thrive.
Highlights of the She-Fix 2.0 initiative included a high-level panel discussion, live car care demonstrations, a marketplace featuring female-led businesses, interactive engagements, networking opportunities, and promotional offers on Oleum Lubricants and NR-GAS LPG products. These activities collectively reinforced NNPC Retail’s commitment to advancing gender equity and inclusion across the energy value chain.
The panel session featured distinguished female leaders across diverse sectors, including Emmanuella Arukwe, Managing Director, NNPC Foundation; Maryamu Idris, Managing Director, NNPC Trading Limited and OPEC National Representative for Nigeria; Oremeyi Akah, Chief Customer Officer, Interswitch Limited; Toyin Alasi, Founder and CEO, Money Wise International; and Adaeze Nwakoby, General Manager, Governance, Risk and Compliance, NNPC Retail Limited.
Building on the success of its 2025 debut in Lagos, She-Fix 2.0 represents a strategic expansion of the initiative’s reach. It reaffirms NNPC Retail’s dedication to developing a sustainable platform that delivers measurable and lasting impact for women across Nigeria’s energy sector.
