The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Director of elections, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has described as a ‘treasonable act’ claims of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the party’s Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo has won the December 7th Presidential polls.
The NPP’s Campaign Manager, Peter Mac Manu has claimed at the press conference that the NPP was winning the polls with a 54% margin.
According to the NPP Campaign Manager, Peter Mac Manu, figures at the disposal of the party suggests that Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo is in the lead with 4,600,000 votes as against 3,640,000 for the incumbent, President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC reacting to this said the action is ‘irresponsible and treasonable act aimed at jeopardizing the peace and security’ in Ghana.
“It is a treasonable act aimed at undermining peace and security of the country…it is another demonstration of NPP resort to acts that threatens peace of Ghana…,” he said.
According to Ofosu Ampofo, parallel voters’ tabulation by the NDC also showed that Mahama is doing very well
The NDC as ‘a law abiding party won’t go contrary to laws of the country and declare our candidate the winner.’
He further claimed that the press conference was called to ‘condemn the action of the NPP and also bring it to the attention of international observers.’
“We are asking Ghanaians to disregard what the NPP has done and remain calm because we believe that not too long, the EC would come out with certified results,” he said.
