The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Plateau Command, on Tuesday said that it would deploy 300 officers and men during the March 23, supplementary poll in the state.

Obasa, said that 5 officers and men, would be deployed to each of the 40 polling units in the nine Local Government Area where the supplementary election would be held in the state.

He further revealed that about 100 armed men would be on standby in case of eventuality of a breach of peace at the polling units.

The spokesman warned officers and men who will be deployed for the election against partisanship during the polls.

He also disclosed that the NSCDC will be working in collaboration with the police and other security agencies.

Obasa appealed to politicians in the state to be of good conduct and advised them to accept the outcome of the election in the spirit of sportsmanship.

He called on the candidates and their supporters to shun any form of violence that could lead to loss of lives and property.

Obasa, however, solicited the support of politicians, candidates and the electorate to assist the security agencies to ensure that the polls are violent free.

He warned that the security agencies wouldn’t take it lightly with any person or group that may want to breach the peace before, during and after the supplementary election.
