An expert on United Kingdom Emerging Capital Markets, Sir Roger Gifford, and the President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, will jointly unveil a report on capital markets reform in Lagos.

The Communication Manager, British Deputy High Commission in Lagos, Wale Adebayo, said this in a statement on Friday.

The report, according to him, is meant to review and make recommendations for reforms that will deepen the Nigerian capital markets and attract domestic and international investments.

He added that the report would focus on the integrity of the market, regulatory infrastructure, market incentives, barriers and market development.

The report was produced by the Law Society of England & Wales and the Nigeria Capital Market Solicitors Association.

Adebayo added that the report would help to identify areas of capital market development where the combination of UK and Nigeria private and public sector expertise would increase capital flows between Nigeria and the UK for mutual benefit.

He said the “Nigeria-UK Capital Markets Project” was launched in Lagos last year by the UK and Nigeria, adding that in 2013, the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office launched the Emerging Capital Markets Taskforce under the umbrella of HM Treasury’s Financial Services Trade and Investment Board.”
