He charged the participating corps members to be appolitical , discipline and polite while discharging their duties.

Alhaji Aminu said even though the INEC ad-hoc work is optional and not compulsory, adequate security arrangement will be provided for the corps members during the elections.

“We shall sit down with INEC over your posting and if the area to be posted has a security threat and not suitable for your safety, we will change it. We have collaboration with the security agencies for your protection during the elections.

“In view of the peculiar situation in Borno, we asked INEC to send us the deployment sheet to enable us scrutinise the document.

“The sensitisation exercise is part of preparations to equip corps members to enable them discharge their duties during the elections,” he said.

Also speaking, the Resident Electorial Commissioner (REC) in charge of Borno, Alhaji Muhammad Magaji, represented by Mr Ibrahim Maigoro, the INEC Electoral Officer in charge of Jere, said the training was designed to acquaint the corps members with their responsibilities during the election.

He said the corps members would serve as polling clerks and presiding officers while the training proper for the excercise will be coming up in two weeks time.
