Oba Of Benin Gifts Obasanjo, Alake Royal Artefacts

The Oba of Benin Kingdom, Omo ‘N’ Oba N’edo, Ewuare 11, on Thursday gifted royal bronze artefacts to former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo to end his visit to Ogun State.

The monarch had on Wednesday separately paid royal visits to former president Obasanjo at his residence in Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta and Oba Gbadebo at his Ake Palace.

The Oba of Benin through the Secretary, Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor presented a royal bronze artefact with an inscription of an Oba of Benin seating on a royal chair with packs of Benin traditional clothes to the former president.

The Benin monarch also gifted Oba Gbadebo another royal bronze artefact of an Oba of Benin seating on a royal chair.

The Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Isola, was also gifted a seven-kilogram book containing the history of Benin and a carton of wine glass with the logo of royal majesty.

The Oba of Benin and his chiefs departed for Lagos from the Alake Palace at about 3:15 pm.
In his response, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo expressed appreciation to the Oba of Benin for the royal visit.
Alake who also exchanged traditional gifts with the Oba of Benin enjoined the monarch to always remember his visit to Ogun State.
