This is coming just as some prominent Nigerians,  including Buba Galadima and Dr. Usman Bugaji hav insisted that only if the INEC conducts credible election can Nigerian democracy be stabilised.

Obasanjo and the political actors stated this yeserday in Abuja during the official presentation of a book entitled ‘Politics As Dashed Hopes in Nigeria’ authored by Dr. Auwalu Anwar.

Anwar explained that the idea of the book was born out of sordid politcal experiences which often witnessed by intrigues,  illegalities and outright denial during party parties.

According to him, politics in Nigeria lacks integrity,  justice, discipline  and credibility and that it behoves on government and the electoral umpire to streghten it.

However, Obasanjo maintained that “it is important to keep the nation’s political history so it can enlightenment  the present and future.”

While according credit to  Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for ensuring that the PDP led administration of Goodluck Jonathan was ousted in 2015, Obasanjo stated that although the Buhari-APC led government has failed woefully especially in areas of security, fighting corruption and job creation.

“Buhari and APC must get credit for the strong opposition that removed the PDP and President Jonathan but on security, fighting corruption and job creation, as from today, these areas have failed. Our hopes lies in democracy with good governance,  fair and credible elections,” he stated.
