Obudu Community Banish APC Councillorship Aspirant, Dekas Ikashi Isomkwo For Stealing

Less than a week after a PDP councillorship aspirant in Obudu, Sunny Ejesi, was caught on CCTV camera shop lifting in Calabar, another councillorship aspirant in Obudu Urban 1 Ward, under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dekas Ikashi Isomkwo has been banished by the Abonkib community youths and chiefs over allegations of stealing, swindling the community and involvement in series of nefarious activities.

Dekas, who is the first cousin to Governor Ayade is said to have connived with his uncle, Augustine Ikashi, to swindle the Abonkib community of N2.5million compensation for farm lands. He is also accused of stealing solar panels that were installed in the community by late lawmaker, Hon. Paul Adah, and converted them to his personal use. Many of the youths, who carried the traditional sacred “bizu” leaves, (coctus afer), to his residence, also accused him of using his filial relationship with the governor to intimidate others in the community.

Dekas and his uncle Augustine, were also fined, five hundred thousand Naira, one native cow, ten crates of beer, twenty seeds of kolanuts and palmwine.

It will be recalled that Governor Ayade had earlier sworn before the Chiefs that if he doesn’t complete the Obudu Airport at the end of his tenure, he should also be banished from Obudu with the sacred Bizu leaves.
