The Ogun State Sector Commander, FRSC, Ahmed Umar, confirmed the killing to journalists in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Umar, who noted that the accident occurred on Monday, said it was caused by the carelessness of the truck driver.

He said, “The driver was on top speed when he lost control and hit the officers.

“The officers were just standing by their vehicle. It was a flat body truck; the truck hit the officer and brushed him against the patrol vehicle. The officer died, while another marshal got injured.”
The sector commander explained that the truck driver did not stop after hitting the officers, adding that he had been arrested and handed over to the police for prosecution.
Umar noted that the injured marshal was receiving treatment in a hospital.
