…I still don’t believe it anyway. But believe it or not, that piece of news further reinforces the need for some of us to curb our impulses, tame our excesses in the oversharing of personal details on social media. Some of us must wisely yield to that need to turn of our ‘Location’ buttons on our phones and PCs. For that insatiable, attention-seeking behavior which most five year olds already outgrew, is the reason a sizable chunk of an active demography in the overall population is already absent on FB! Our deep obsession with our manufactured alternate-reality is definitely self-injurious!
We are gradually becoming the “Generational Adults Behaving Foolishly!”
Our tone-deafness to self-preservation and the utter blindness to personal security is bound to lead one day to victim-precipitation!
The strain of the ‘faux-bourgeoise’ mental disorder affecting some of us is deathly serious! Some of us MUST at any rate get our social media fix daily! The nonsensical showing-off is the self-validation for the great emptiness we try to hide; a gargantuan paradox of a life we deeply loathe yet we must craftily project so the world could readily pat us on the back. The orgasmic high of a serial masturbator. Yes he ejaculates- but really into nothing but into the heavily callused thrust of his own narrowly clenched palm!
Our lives, our daily itineraries are planned to the familiarity of total strangers! Same thing we warned our kids against. Same strangers we selectively ignored his or her hello while momentarily caught together- especially in confined spaces! Same strangers we find faults sitting next to in a bus, on a train, or on a damn plane! Same strangers we routinely clutched our pocketbooks to our chest, for some few minutes that seem like eternity in an elevator just for clarity, sanity and for that needed peace of mind! That’s the same stranger liking, loving and hailing your stupidity in open view!
How do you know that same dude, or that same gal is not waiting at home for you?
To Kim-K and Kay-West, E dakun e mókàn!
