The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has expressed felicitations with a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei as well as ace broadcaster, Gbenga Aruleba, on their birthday.

While Ochei turned 51 today, Aruleba clocked 60.

In separate felicitation letters personally signed by him, Senator Omo-Agege commended the duo for their immense contributions to nation-building.

According to Senator Omo-Agege, Ochei’s rare chemistry of integrity and tenacity of purpose led to his emergence as one of the youngest Speakers of state assemblies in Nigeria at the age 42.

“As a three-time lawmaker, your uncommon services to the people of Delta State, positioned you as an individual with well-honed leadership skills and a passion for public service.

“You remain an asset not only to Delta State in particular but also to Nigeria in general.

“As you continue to strive to make our dear nation the envy of other nations  through your impactful contributions and selfless service to humanity, I pray that you live long to see the reward of your labour.

“On behalf of my family, staff and All Progressives Congress (APC) members  in the South-South geopolitical zone, we want to thank God for your life and to wish you many happy returns of today,” Omo-Agege stated.

In his letter to the anchor of the popular ‘Focus Nigeria’ programme on African Independent Television, the Senator commended Aruleba for his diligent contributions to journalism as well as the advancement of the country’s democracy.

He said: “Having followed your diligent contributions to nation-building while you anchored the AIT’s ‘Focus Nigeria’ programme, I have no doubt that you are one of those the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ) will proudly continue to identify as very noteworthy alumni.

“Now at 60, by whatever parameters of consideration, you have become an elder and the cultural and divine duty of inspiring and guiding those behind becomes even more important.

“May God Almighty continue to grant you good health, joy and prosperity in the coming years. I felicitate with you and members of your family as you mark this great milestone”.
