Ondo leads at Wike National Wrestling Challenge Cup

Ondo State currently leads the medals table at the on-going Governor Wike Wrestling Challenge Cup after Day Two of the championship holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The state held sway in the cadet category of between 16 and 17 years that featured the three styles of Greco-Roman, female wrestling and men’s freestyle.

As at the last count, Ondo tops with six gold, two silver and a bronze medals. Occupying the second position was Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Wrestling team with five gold, a silver and two bronze medals, while Bayelsa is third with four gold, six silver and two bronze medals. Cross River State is fourth with two gold, four silver and five bronze medals.

Bauchi with two gold, a silver and two bronze medals are fifth position, while Benue is sixth with a gold and two silver medals. Coming in seventh position is Dynamite Wrestling Club with a gold and two bronze medals.

Action continues today at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Alfred Diette-Spiff Civic Centre.
