The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), John Kennedy Opara has given recognition to some Staff of the Commission for their selfless service and commitment during the 2016 Board /Staff retreat held recently at Goshen City, Nasarawa State
Speaking at the event, he explained that it is a rare thing to see organizations honour people who deserve to be hounoured but that he has decided to set up a honourary scheme to motivate others and encourage staff who are working hard for the success of the Commission.
He spoke on the need to be willing for hard work and commitment to the Commission’s course, against all odds this year. According to him, “the will of God is not done most times because man is not willing”
The winners of the award were picked from three different categories; the Junior cadre, Senior cadre and Management.
Mr. Roland Tetok from Accounts Department emerged winner of the 2016 Executive Secretary Award for the junior Cadre, for being a very hard working staff who has served faithfully from the inception of the Commission, the Zonal Coordinator, North Central, Mrs. Evelyn Fari emerged winner for the Senior Cadre while the Head of Administration, Rev. Amos Yohanna, emerged winner for the Management Cadre as a result of his hard work, resilience and his excellence in the administration of the Commissions’ affairs.
Earlier, Prof. Sam Ale, Chairman of the Award Committee, commended the Executive Secretary for the great work he is doing in the Commission. He affirmed that NCPC is recognized as one of the best parastatals in the country, and as such one of the best government agencies to work with in Nigeria.
He affirmed that John Kennedy Opara was conferred with the award of OFR, by the former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2013 for his selfless service to fatherland.
He urged staff to maintain the good report by putting in their best at all times. According to him, “other civil servants admire the great work going on in NCPC”.
He explained that the Committee carefully went through series of screening processes in the selection of winners.
Among the runner- ups who received letters of commendation were Dr. Ifeoma Unachukwu, Assistant Director, Office of the Executive Secretary, Mr. Isaac Abu Okpanachi, Head of Finance and Accounts department, Mrs. Ezemobi Chigozie, and Mr. Joel Anthony.
