Osun NSCDC Arrests Teenager, Two Others Over Alleged Burglary

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a 15-year old, Ridwan Awoyinka and two others over alleged burglary.

 A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Daniel Adigun, on Saturday, indicated that one Hamzat Tajudeen reported that his shop was burgled and materials carted away.

 Adigun said in the course of investigation into the complaint, three suspects were apprehended, adding that those arrested confessed their involvement in the crime.

 The statement read in part, “The three suspects are; Oyejola Ismail, M, 20, Awoyinka Ridwan, M, 15 and Aderemi Jelili, M, 44, a scrap buyer.

 “Oyejola and Awoyinka confessed to have burgled the shop around 6am and made away with three electric motors, three generator parts, four welding machines and a drilling machine. They said they sold the items to Aderemi Jelili who buys scrap metals though he denied, but admitted to have bought condemned sockets and chains from the duo.

 “Investigation is on to ascertain the extent of involvement of each of them so they could be charged for conspiracy, stealing and trespass.’’ It noted that the complainant asked for the return of his stolen items or the payment of N990, 000 in lieu.
