Over 6,000 churches in Rwanda shut as new law requires pastors to have Bachelors Degree before they can preach.
According to reports gathered by GhanaCNN from Rwanda news correspondent for CNN, Alizia Bamoada Yakama, Rwanda’s government, led by President Paul Kagame, has ordered the closure of over 6,000 churches.

According to a new law passed in the country, a pastor must have at least a bachelor’s degree before being allowed to preach.
The new law, which was first proposed in 2018, has now been passed and is in effect throughout the country.
All prayers and church activities outside of registered church premises, such as in the forests, mountains, and riverside, are prohibited under the new law.
