Over 2000 unskilled and unemployed persons in Sokoto state will be provided with vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills in the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Lukman Abubakar has said.
Lukman, who is the Sokoto State acting coordinator of NDE, made the disclosure in a statement, where he further indicated that the beneficiaries shall include 10 from each of the 244 council wards of the state.
According to Lukman, the Public Works Sector of the NDE will engage the beneficiaries in over 30 different skills of their choices.

“”This job creation initiative of the NDE is promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda and will provide starts up capital, equipment and working tools at the end of the training while other participants will be linked to credit granting institutions to access loans to commence medium or large scale businesses””.
Listing some of the skills to be learned, the state acting coordinator of NDE, Lukman Abubakar named few to include, leather works, fashion design, hardwares and phone repairs, beauty therapy, electrical installation, carpentry, plumbing, tie and dye, interior decoration, hairdressing amongst others.
On employment method, Lukman said interested persons should visit their sites to register online or contact the Sokoto NDE office for relevant assistance and guidance.
