The newly installed Owa of igbajo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ademola SK Makinde paid an historic visit to his ancestral home at Akeran’s compound in Ile Ife on the 5th of May 2024
The Obadio of the Source who is also the Abore Oduduwa was on ground to receive the Owa with his entourage, where the history of AKERAN was properly told.
It was said that AKERAN bore six children who were all made chiefs in their own capacities and they all left Ile Ife to establish their own kingdoms that can be found in eight states of Nigeria and in Benin Republic.
The height of the day was when an over a hundred years old leader of Akeran’s compound, Venerable Olayinka prayed for the newly installed Owa of Igbajo Oba ADEMOLA SK MAKINDE that olodumare will continue to bless him with good health,wealth and always crown his efforts with success before the Abore Oduduwa led the whole entourage to the ancient palace of the Ooni of Ife to pay a courtesy call on His Imperial Majesty, Oba Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi at the palace grounds.
Oba Enitan Ogunwusi admonishes the new Owa to embrace all friends and foes and harmonize all and sundry. He advised him to focus more on things that will bring developmental progress to Igbajo, the city of his dream.
Oba Ogunwusi said the new Owa should use his good office to promote Tradition, Art and culture of his domain so as to forster unity amongst all Yorubas at home and in diaspora.
Oba Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi pledged his unflinching support to Oba Ademola SK Makinde,the Onigemo I whenever he needs it and prayed for a brighter future for him and his domain. He also prayed that his reign shall be cherished and remembered by many generations after him.
Gifts were exchanged before the departure of His Royal Majesty oba Ademola SK Makinde and his entourage from the ancient city of Ile Ife at 5pm.
Before retiring back to his abode in Igbajo Oba ADEMOLA had a stopover at the Ataoja’s palace in Osogbo to have a tete-a-tete with Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Laroye II.
