Peter Okoye of the popular pop-group, PSquare on Thursday apologised to fans over the recent disagreement that erupted between himself, his twin brother and members of his family.

In a short video he posted yesterday, Peter said: “We have resolved our issues and we beg for your forgiveness. I will take full responsibility of everything that has happened and I promise you that our problems are behind us now.”

Their lawyer, Festus Keyamo (SAN), had on Tuesday waded into the controversy, while appealing to the public to refrain from jumping into what he called uninformed conclusions about the musicians’ disagreement.

Keyamo added that while the brothers (including their manager Jude) may have genuine grievances, nobody’s life was at risk as claimed in media reports. “All the various incidents that happened in our chambers (some as late at 12 midnight and 2a.m. and one of which was captured in the online video) arose out of various meetings that were genuine attempts at resolving their differences.

“None of these talented brothers is at fault. None of them is also wholly justified and correct in their individual positions. We also wish to state categorically that, contrary to widely held opinions, none of their wives is at fault. In fact, the wives have kept their respectable and dignified distances from all the issues involved. They have never interfered in any way.”

Ever since it became public knowledge that the music duo Peter and Paul Okoye were no longer together, many had been wondering if both brothers will begin to perform their individual songs or keep performing PSquare songs.

One of the duo, Peter is the one who seems to be doing the most to move on from the PSquare brand, as he regularly posts flyers of shows where he has been booked to perform on his social media pages. He told a concerned fan that he will keep performing songs he and Paul made as PSquare. He made this known while responding to a fan’s comment on Instagram.

The fan had asked that “Only one question… the songs you are gonna be performing is it Mr P’s or P-square’s?”

“Sounds very ridiculous.” He responded that he will keep performing PSquare songs and that anyone can “go and call police.”
