The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against placing total confidence in northern governors ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking through a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele alleged that some northern governors backing the President’s reported second-term ambition may not be fully committed to his re-election project.
According to the cleric, several governors are pursuing personal political interests that could eventually undermine Tinubu’s ambitions if not carefully managed.
“President Tinubu should watch against being betrayed at the last minute by northern governors. Not all of them are with him for his second-term bid,” Ayodele stated.

He further warned that hidden political agendas within the President’s camp could pose serious challenges if ignored.
“Many of them have their own agenda, and it may be too late for the president to discover. If he isn’t careful, their betrayal will consume his ambition. He needs to watch and be on alert; not all of them are with him,” he added.
Primate Ayodele also predicted that the forthcoming party primaries across various political parties would trigger major political upsets, including within the ruling All Progressives Congress.
According to him, several influential politicians may lose their political relevance during the primaries despite their current closeness to the President.
“A lot of people will cry, powerful people will fall across political parties, including the APC. Not all the people following Tinubu and singing ‘On Your Mandate’ will survive it,” he said.
The comments come amid increasing political consultations, alliances, and permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
