Yari Eyes Deputy President, Backs Goje For President

Youths, under the auspices of the North-East Progressive Youth Forum (PYF), have stated that with the wealth of experience, track record and influence in the legislature, Senator Danjuma Goje is best suited for the Senate Presidency in the 9th National Assembly.

The forum furthered canvassed that for equity, the six geopolitical zones should be ably represented with the senate presidency zoned to the North East and be filled by Sen Goje.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, the forum, through its chairman, Rimam Tsokwa, urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to critically look at the credentials of each contender, insisting that as Asiwaju is to the South West, so was Sen Goje to the North East.

“We have six geopolitical zones and six key positions ranging from the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria down to the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives. For equity, justice and fair play, each of the six geopolitical zones should be ably represented.

“The president is from the North West, the vice president is from the South West, the senate president zoned to North East, while the three zones, that is, North Central, South South, South East deserve the distribution of the under listed offices, deputy senate president, speaker to the South West leaving North Central, South South and South East out of the zoning arrangement.

“We urge the party to look at the roles of each of the contenders and deduce who among them will be a better leader. It is not in doubt that, all party leaders are important, but we also know that some party leaders are more important than others. A closer look at their individual contributions and influence in the zone shows that Goje is to APC in the North East what Tinubu is to APC in the South West.
