The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate will on Monday begin the verification of Customs, Immigrations and Prison pensioners across the country.
The exercise is scheduled to take place in 13 centers across the country – Rivers, Edo, Cross River, Enugu, Imo, Lagos, Oyo, Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, FCT, Kwara and Benue states.
A statement on Friday in Abuja by PTAD’s Head of Communications, Theodora Amaechi, advised all Customs, Immigrations and Prisons pensioners to come along with all necessary documents, including the original and photocopies of their relevant retirement credentials for the exercise.
“PTAD is equally aware of the Sick and infirm Customs, Immigrations and Prisons pensioners and they are advised to contact PTAD through our toll free number, where they are unable to come to the designated centres,” she stated.

The agency, which was established in August 2013 in compliance with the provision of Section 30(2) (a) of the Pension Reform Act 2004 as amended in 2014, is charged with the responsibility of pension management under the Defined Benefit Scheme for pensioners, who are not part of the Contributory Pension Scheme.

PTAD commenced verification of all pensioners in 2014 with the first group being the Police Pensioners between December 8 2014 and March 2015.
