Rainoil Limited, which began operation in 1997, was also presented the Merit Award for Industry Impact for its innovative oil retail operations in recent years.
According to the organisers, Obechie was awarded for promoting the downstream sector and adding value to the industry in Nigeria, and also commended for serving as a role model, and making significant contributions especially in the downstream.
Obechie described the recognition as “a culmination of hard work and commitment to the downstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry for the past 26 years.”

He told The Guardian that the honour would encourage the Rainoil team to work harder and deliver continued innovation, efficiency, service and sustainability in their operations across the country.

An integrated oil and Gas company, Rainoil founded in 1994, has joined the ‘A’ list petroleum marketing company in Nigeria, with huge capacity in the downstream value chain, including petroleum products storage, haulage, distribution, retail sales and much more.
