….Christians and Ignorance
I read a piece about someone saying some Christians are demarketing the Church when they point out what some pastors are doing wrong. I was so upset at the level of ignorance and gullibility. I am responding to such ignorance here:
No one sets out to demarket any church. Certain church leaders are already doing a good job. When a pastor says:
1• He told a member of his congregation to enter the toilet in France and without any flight etc, the member came out in the toilet in Germany and also returned the same way, without visa what do you call this? Is this not even illegal and criminal? No passport. No visa. Is this not demarketing the church already as a place for liars and criminals?
2• When a pastor says he prayed and people started receiving alert on their phones without working, what is this magic or miracle? Is this possible? Is he not teaching people to be lazy and focus on miracles instead of working hard as God instructs us? Is the church and Christianity about such deceit? Is this not already demarketing the church? If Nigeria was a serious country some people should have investigated the accounts of such members to see where the money came from.
3• When a senior pastor threatens that if you don’t pay tithe you and your family will die and go to hell, and the Bible does not say so. What is this? Did Jesus say so? Is it in the Bible? Is this not dishonest? Is this not presenting a lying pastor and church and demarketing the church?

4• When a pastor tells people to form queues and be giving between $1000 and $5000 as the Lord instructed him and they would get several folds returns, is this not money doubling? Does the Bible tell us to do this? Is this right? Is this not demarketing the church? You are collecting dollars from poor congregants and you later boast that you have secured the future of your children and bought houses for all of them and have secured the education of even your grand children in schools abroad. Is this not immoral? Which other work do you do apart from collecting tithes and offerings? Is this not demarketing the church?
When a pastor said God told him he would be the next President of Nigeria and it didn’t happen is this also not immoral? What does God say about those who give fake prophecies in the name of the Lord and say “thus says the Lord when God has not said so?” Has the pastor not done enough damage to the church?
Are these people not doing enough damage to the name of Christ? Are we wrong in challenging and correcting them?
We have a problem with such transactional pastors. But the bigger problem is with Christians who are so blind folded and gullible and will not study their bibles to see whether these things are doctrinally right. But instead they keep blindly defending these lying pastors. They believe every word a pastor tells them and will not like the Berean Christians check if they are true.
I reiterate that no one is demarketing the Church. The lying pastors are already doing a good job of it by presenting a Church that is not in line with what Jesus said and out of line with Apostolic Doctrines. Many people don’t trust the church any longer because of some of these pastors. They are the ones demarketing the church and the name of Jesus.
Many people would rather believe and blindly defend their pastors who are wrong instead of doing what the Bible says.
It’s a shame and a pity.
