It had never been an easy ride for anyone who want to grab power at any level where contest and election are the processes of selection. It is usually not so for all those who have travelled through the road leading to OKEMOSAN , the seat of power of my dear State since its creation and movement from okeilewo to its present location. The political journey is remarkable within the short span of 4 years intervals with lots of activities ranging from emergence of contenders , endless meetings and consultation with party leaders and stakeholders, political propaganda , hatred agenda and different levels of scheming among the contenders and different power blocs in a game only God knows the winner from the begining.
I therefore laugh when some people say somebody will not “beeeee” forgetting that in electoral matters every individual has limited influence with just one vote out of hundred thousands votes needed to elect the eventual winner. It is only a lazy and incompetent aspirant that such an empty threat can rattle anyway. History is there to show that the most victimised aspirants get the peoples’ nod from 1999 till date

Maybe they have forgotten so soon that Osoba suffered indignation alongside his other colleagues in NADECO before getting the support of the leaders in AD in 1999. That Obj lost his polling booth in an election that made him President and Commander in Chief in 1999. The story is still fresh how Olusegun Mimiko in not far away Ondo state was coerced and forced out of the ruling party where he was a cabinet member to a lowly rated Labour Party to become the Governor of Ondo thus defeating the party that refused him the ticket in the general election. Back in Ogun state have we forgotten how a Gbenga with his traditional black cap coming fresh into the politics of the state not only emerged the fagbearer of the less attractive PDP then, soon made the party a strong winning team in the state and in the face of stern opposition and victimisation from the sitting government of the day emerged victorious to rule Ogun State for 8years. Do we need to remind us how SIA , a former Senator and a senior member of the ruling party then was forced to move to ANPP in the face of stiff opposition to contest the 2007 governorship election but finally met the favour of leadership of the ACN in 2011 to secure the ticket that defeated his strongest political enemy’s camp through the favour of the electorates in an easy win to be in the saddle for 8years. How time flies and people forgot history they were part of the making.
I have looked at the profiles of many of those talking God ahead of the 2019 election only to discover that a good number of them have no role to play at all in the whole exercise aside their noise making and probably one vote in the emergence of who rules the State after the incumbent from 2019. The stories and lessons of electioneering is about the success of candidates’ God has ordained through the choice of the people and the failure of others whose time are not yet ripe. It is simply about the stories of someone denigrated by men but promoted by God …eni ti won ni kole p’ago to di onile arabara . Whoelse if not God is capable of making it happen when people think it’s over.
My admonitions to aspirants who really meant business is to ignore the market noise and focus more on what they have come to purchase from the market . The main business in the market are functions of the sellers and buyers with purchasing powers while the noise makers are only in the market to window shop, hence, they make the loudest noise
It is the thinking of enemies that you dont return from your trip but usually it is thesame set of people who will first ask you what you brought from the trip.
The Lord who dissapointed Haman to promote Modecai . The Lord who made David and Solomon kings over His people despite the oppositions was ELSHADAI …Olorun tonje EMI NI.
