The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, calling on citizens to uphold the values of peace, sacrifice and national unity.
In a Sallah message issued on Tuesday, Senator Akume described Eid-el-Kabir as a season of deep spiritual reflection, compassion and devotion to the ideals exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
He urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the peace, stability and continued progress of the country.
According to the SGF, the festival symbolises obedience, selflessness and faith in God — virtues he said are critical to fostering harmony and strengthening national cohesion, especially at a time Nigeria is confronting socio-economic and security challenges.
Akume also commended Muslims for their contributions to national development and peaceful coexistence, stressing that Nigeria’s diversity should remain a source of strength rather than division.

The SGF called on Nigerians to continue supporting the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that ongoing reforms are already yielding positive results for the country.
He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of Nigerians.
Akume encouraged Muslim faithful to extend love and kindness to the less privileged during the celebration, adding that the spirit of sacrifice associated with Eid-el-Kabir should inspire greater care for vulnerable members of society.
He also prayed for sustained peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria, while wishing Muslims a joyful, safe and fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration marked by renewed hope for the nation.
The statement was signed by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
