Dufil Prima Foods Plc has pledged the sum of N20 million (to be disbursed over five years) to the ‘Save Our Art! Save Our Heritage’ campaign designed to safeguard Osun Osogbo Grove.

The Grove is one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nigeria, where tourists and art lovers visit to see monumental sculptures created by world-renowned artists, led by the German-Astrian, Susanne Wenger. The unique sculptures at the site exemplify the artists’ commitment to creating art that reflects the intrinsic culture and traditions of Nigeria.

While presenting the first tranche of cheque of N4 million to the representatives of Susanne Wenger Adunni Olorisha Trust (AOT) on behalf of Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Group Public Relations and Events Manager, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, said the donation was one of the brand’s ways of promoting and protecting the cultural heritages and traditions of Nigeria.

In receiving the cheque on behalf of AOT, Volunteer Co-Chairs, AOT Management Committee, Hugh Campbell and Robin Campbell, said the gesture would go a long way in helping to preserve the art in the grove and also protect Wenger’s works. He said the objective of the AOT is to ensure that the artwork created by the New Sacred Art Movement is preserved with high artistic standards and also that the new artists, as well as the artists of the movement are recognised and encouraged. He added that the AOT also exists to protect Yoruba’s cultural heritage in a sustainable manner.
