Shi’ite Protest: FCT DCP, Operations, Shot Dead

A Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the FCT Police Command, DCP Usman Umar was today shot by members of the El-Zakzakky Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
The officer was allegedly shot while trying to calm the protesters who took over major part of the Central Business District of the city.

A police source, who confirmed the incident to The Nation, said DCP Umar died when he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

When The Nation called the Force Spokesman, DCP Frank Mba to confirm the casualty figure, he promised to issue a statement soon. [THE NATION]
