Sokoto state government through the Commsioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana has appealed to the Sokoto State Demographic Dividend Profiling (Household Data Survey) enumerators to strictly adhere to the rules, rudiments, and instructions of the exercise.
Dr. Zayyana who made the call while addressing the enumerators, supervisors, and monitors of the exercise in the three designated training centers for the three Senatorial zones of Sokoto State affirmed that the quality of the survey’s success depends on data collected.
Aside the data, he also noted that due diligence of the enumerators and their seriously towards ensuring accurate capture of the demographic data of visited households would add credibility to the excercise.

“The Demographic Dividend Profiling is a significant initiative aimed at providing the state with accurate and reliable data on its demographic profile, and the data collected will inform policy decisions and interventions towards harnessing the state’s demographic dividend for sustainable development,” Dr. Zayyana noted.
Speaking further, Zayyana explained that the ten-day exercise would be conducted in six wards of each of the twenty-three local government areas in the state even as he charges them to be courteous, respectful, and professional in their interactions with respondents.
The Commissioner, represented by Director of International Cooperation Alhaji Musa Muhammad Wamakko, expressed gratitude to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the European Union (EU) Serah Project for their support, which has enabled the state government to embark on this critical exercise.
On his part, Shagari Local Government Chairman, Barrister Maidawa Kajiji who spoke on behalf of the chairmen of the 23 Local Governments, praised the state government and partners for their foresight even as he pledged their collective support to the excercise.
