The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has asked local manufacturers to maintain standards in production to ensure global acceptance of Nigerian-made products.Deputy Director, Standard Development of SON, Agboola Afolayan, who stated this at Ozubulu in Anambra, after certifying the product of Sea Horse Lubricant Industries, as meeting the global requirements and wholly certified for use both in the motor Industry and domestic consumption, said it was the only way Nigerian products could compete in international markets.

SON operatives had raided SeaHorse warehouse recently and displayed its products in the media as adulterated, substandard and unfit for use.But in what look like a reversal, Afolayan who led a team of SON officials including Olujie Nwaoma, the Anambra State coordinator on assessment/confirmation tour of the SeaHorse establishment said “after running thorough tests in the laboratory, we satisfy their products (Engine Oil and other lubricant) to be genuine.

“This laboratory at SeaHorse has been in existence since the company was setup. No one can put all these gadgets in place just because officials from SON are coming for inspection. We have been monitoring their products. We are satisfied with the company products”.
