Suspected Cultists Kill FIRS Official In Lagos

Suspected cultists have allegedly killed a female Federal Inland Revenue Service official, one Ibironke Adefila, in Lagos.

This was announced in a statement by the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman, Media, and Communication, FIRS, Johannes Oluwatobi Wojuola, stating that Adefila was allegedly killed by cultists in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The statement partly read, “Preliminary reports conducted in conjunction with members of Security Agencies revealed that Mrs Adefila must have been a victim of activities of suspect cult groups which have become a general concern of recent in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

“The unfortunate incident was said to have occurred at about 5:30 am on the 28th of January, 2022 while she was waiting to join her colleague to the office as they usually do.”

The agency condoled with the family for their heartfelt loss.

While urging members of the media not to sensationalise the incident, it noted that security agencies were yet to conclude their investigation.
