The Taraba State Election Petitions Tribunal constituted by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab A. Bulkachuwa to entertain grievances from the just-concluded elections has relocated to Abuja.
The three-man tribunal had commenced siting at Magistrate Court, Mile Six in Jalingo, the state capital immediately after the elections before the latest development.
The tribunal secretary, Julde Abdulsalam, who answered questions from LEADERSHIP in Jalingo, said that the relocation of the court to Abuja was based on the security of the tribunal members and the petitioners.

Julde lamented that the current security situation in Jalingo, which he insisted, was not healthy for the tribunal to conduct its sittings in an open court like that of the Magistrate Court at Mile Six.
In a notice signed by Abdulsalam which was pasted at the office of the state’s chief judge of without stating the reasons for the relocation of the tribunal, called on the general public to contact the secretary for further details.
At the time of the relocation, the tribunal had received three senatorial cases, four House of Representatives’ petitions while no case was filed against the governorship poll.
