As more reactions continue to trail the highest award given by Paraguayan government to Nigerian preacher, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, religious leaders across the country, especially Christians has been charged to emulate the spiritual and leadership qualities noted in the prophet.
Pastor Michael Olaoluwa of Salvation Gospel Church, who gave the charge in an interview with INFOTRUST, said most religious leaders instead of using their callings and resources to positively impact lives, chose to live flamboyantly without being sensitive to the plight of the downtrodden.
“Most of our religious leaders are not doing what Christ charges us to be doing – reaching out to the poor, sick, preaching salvation and positively affecting lives so that we can bring the world to Christ,” he said.
“Prophet TB,” he continued “was recognized in Paraguay for his spiritual and physical qualities, which he deploys in his service to humanity.”
He described him as a man “bridging the gaps in a troubled world”.
Meanwhile, Joshua who is the founder of Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), was on August 9, decorated by the Parliament of Paraguay with the highest honour – National Order of Merit, a distinction award in the country.

The Parliament approved the award at its sitting in Asuncion after a member Bernardo Villalba proposed that Joshua receive the highest distinction the Parliament can bestow, according to a statement shown on TB Joshua’s YouTube channel.
But Avanza Pais however opposed the proposition on grounds that the distinction had previously only been awarded to citizens of the country. Villalba, for his part, maintained his position.
He had in his argument, said that Joshua, who was compelled to visit Paraguay, “will bring peace and blessings to the population.”
He added: “I do not just want to welcome him (TB Joshua) to our country. We pray that is stay will be as fruitful as possible and that it will be a blessing to our nation. For the first time ever, I propose the National Order to be awarded to a personality and I am proposing that he be awarded this distinction by members of Parliament.”
Reacting to the cleric’s visit and award, General Secretary of the Parliament, Dej Medina said “I’m very excited and I can see a lot of expectation in the people from Paraguay because they’re waiting for a spiritual transformation through the coming of this messenger from Christ. We want to receive him very well; we want to be healed. We’re privileged nation to have him visit our country,” she remarked during an interview with Emmanuel TV before the arrival of the Nigerian cleric.
She said the award was well deserved for the preacher following his outstanding contributions to humanity.
