The Lagos State police command has grilled the owner of the display truck rented by musician, Tekno, to shoot a music video with half-dressed women in Lagos.

It was learnt that the owner of the truck, Stanley Ugboha, who was grilled at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, told the police that he did not know that Tekno was planning to use his truck for the obscene act.

Ugboha, it was learnt, was granted bail along with others who were interrogated.

Tekno, whose real name is Kelechi Augustine, has been at the centre of a raging controversy following his decision to shoot a video along the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge with half-naked women in contravention of the state’s criminal laws.

The musician was seen dancing with the strippers, touching their buttocks and spraying them with money in a van with number plate, APP 713 XL, which was registered in the name of Pro-Vision Media Systems Limited.

The Lagos State Signage Advertisement Agency subsequently suspended the advertising licence of the firm.

However, the firm said in a statement that it had sold the vehicle to Ugboha and could therefore not be held liable.

The statement read in part, “Following the release of a video on social media on Saturday, August, 3, 2019 in which semi-nude women were displayed in a mobile advert truck around the Lekki toll gate, Lagos, the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency announced the suspension of the operating licence of Pro-Vision Media Systems Limited (“Pro-Vision”).

“The suspension was premised on the grounds that the said truck with vehicle registration number APP 713 XL was registered in the name of Pro-Vision which a licensed advertising agency.

“The announcement was shocking to Pro-Vision due to the fact that the company was not engaged in any sort of display. More so, the company had since October 2018 sold the said truck to one Stanley Ugboha.” [PUNCH]
