The killings reportedly created tension in the community, as residents became afraid of further reprisals.

A community source told journalists that there was no report of the arrest of culprits by security operatives.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said, “Though two persons were alleged to have died so far, the whereabouts of the corpses are not known.”
He noted that sanity had been restored in the area.
