Three 15-Year-Old Suspected Bayelsa Cultists Hypnotise Teenage Girl, Attempt Ritual Killing

The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested three teenagers for allegedly attempting ritual killing.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat, in a statement on Tuesday, said the suspects were nabbed with the collaboration of youths in the Sagbama Local Government Area.

The suspects were identified as Emomotimi, Perebi and Eke. The suspects are 15 years old.

The statement said they “allegedly accosted one Comfort, f, 13 years old, hypnotised her to follow them to the apartment of Emomotimi in Sagbama community, cut her fingers and sprinkled the blood on a mirror for ritual purposes.

“Vigilant youths noticed the suspicious movements of the suspects and raised the alarm.

“The suspects were subsequently arrested and some substances suspected to be charms were recovered from them. The suspects have confessed to the crime.

The victim was rescued and rushed to a hospital for medical attention. The suspects have been transferred to the anti-kidnapping unit for discreet investigation.”

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State, CP Ben Okolo, commended the community youths for their vigilance.
