Nigerian female basketball team, D’Tigress have won their 5th consecutive AfroBasket title, reports thegazellenews.com
In the final played on Sunday, 3 August, 2025, in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, D’Tigress beat their Malian counterparts by 78 baskets to 64 to win their fifth title in a row and seventh overall.

Nigeria lost the first quarter 21-22 but rallied to win the second quarter but ended the first half 41-41.
D’Tigress surged ahead winning the third quarter leading 61-57 and consolidated on their lead to eventually win the match the title 78-64.
By winning the African title, D’Tigress have secured the sole automatic ticket for the FIBA World Cup coming up next year while Mali joined South Sudan and Senegal to compete for World Cup qualifying ticket.
