Following the death of a 100 Level student Political Science, Pelewura Bolaji, at the distance learning centre of the University of Ibadan in Lagos State on Friday, the management of the centre has said it would improve the medical facilities for its student in Lagos.

Speaking at a meeting with concerned students in Lagos, the Director of the centre, Prof. Bayo Okunade, said the management of the university was concerned about students’ welfare irrespective of their location.

Okunade urged students to complete all necessary medical clearance on their respective portals to benefit from the service.

One of the students at the meeting noted that the condition of the computer-based examination centre was not suitable, as the environment was unkempt. He stressed that this could be responsible for subsequent health hazards if not addressed on time.

In his response, Okunade explained that while the management of DLC might not be able to meet all demands due to existing rules, he assured the students that all issues raised would be addressed accordingly.
