Weather experts has warned that this current decade is almost certain to be the hottest on record, with reports of melting sea ice, heatwaves and flooding seas in a report launched at the United Nations Climate Summit in Spain.
The planet is currently going through what has been described as a “Climate Crisis,” with ice caps melting and sea levels rising. And while the effects might seem far away, they actually aren’t, with several of us here in Africa already seeing repercussions.

According to Reuters, the WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas said in a statement:
“Heatwaves and floods which used to be ‘once-in-a-century’ events are becoming more regular occurrences, countries ranging from the Bahamas to Japan to Mozambique suffered the effect of devastating tropical cyclones.”
The report also added that 2019 is on course to become the second or third-warmest year on record.
