The NUSSA Games is anticipated to feature 16 various sporting events with over 70 universities from both public and private universities in participation. Also speaking, the UNIBEN Director of Sports, Dr. Felicia Egbase said the Walk and Jog for Life exercise is to sensitize the teeming staff on the need to be prepared for the zonal preliminaries of the games.

She disclosed that any staff, who distinguished himself at the preliminaries, would represent the institution at the games proper at UNILORIN. Egbase added that the university management had promised to support the participants both financially and otherwise to ensure that the institution comes overall best at the end of the games.
“Staff are to compete among themselves for selection of those that will represent UNIBEN at the main event at Unilorin. 16 sporting events will be competed for apart from judo and taekwondo which have been replaced with the game of golf and darts respectively.

“When we hosted the games in 2011, we won. We are trying to sensitize our staff because of what happened at the last edition, but this time around, the management has promised to give adequate support that will ensure effective representation at the games.“The Union is also involved to see how sponsorship drive can be achieved. Our expectation is to win the games and nothing short of that. It is based on this that we are appealing to staff to come out in large numbers for the preliminary across the six zones,” Egbase said.
