Reports said armed robbers along Idi-Araba road in Surulere, Lagos, where LUTH is situated, on Thursday night accosted the house doctor. His assailants reportedly stabbed him and made away with his property.

Sources close to Urueye said he was taken to LUTH on Thursday night after the attack, but died yesterday morning after doctors were unable to save him.

The protesters were seen with placards bearing various inscriptions and calling for justice for the victim. They also want to bring the management’s attention to what they described as frequent robberies around LUTH.

The state Police Command has said that two suspects were currently being interrogated in connection to Urueye’s murder.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Bala Elkanah, confirmed that the young doctor was stabbed to death on Thursday night in front of the LUTH gate.
