On Ojukwu, Uwazuruike said that the late warlord lived and died for the Igbo cause.

Uwazuruike said that Ndigbo were grateful to Ojukwu for fighting selflessly for the freedom of the Igbo people.

He said, “This year’s memorial is a further reminder of who Ikemba Odimegwu Ojukwu was. Ojukwu was an great man who fought for the liberation of Ndigbo.”

Also, the widow of the late Biafran warlord, Bianca, said that out of the three death wishes of Ojukwu, she had been able to achieve three.

She commended Uwazuruike for always honouring her husband.

The president of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, said that there was no celebration that could equate what Ojukwu did for Ndigbo.

He, therefore, called on the governors of the south East region to find a better way of honouring the late warlord.

The guest lecturer, Prof Nathan Uzoma, called the federal government to view the country’s constitution in the quest to achieving national unity.
