President John Dramani Mahama is appealing to Ghanaians not to stampede the Electoral Commission (EC) into announcing the election results.
According to him, he will not hesitate to concede defeat if the total ballot cast certified by the Commission goes against the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The President is trailing with 45 percent of the total votes cast with just 69 constituencies left.

There seem to be some tension in the country following the delay on the part of the EC to release the certified results.
But President Mahama on his twitter page urged Ghanaians to allow the EC to carry out its constitutional mandate.
“Let’s allow EC to carry out its constitutional mandate. We’ll make Ghana proud no matter outcome” he wrote.
