A young housewife, Mariya Adam, on Thursday, asked a Sharia court at Magajin Gari in Kaduna State to assist her in knowing the fate of her marriage with Badamasi Ali.
Adam told the court that Ali left Kano where they lived for 18 months without any news, abandoning her without food or care.
According to her, Ali’s other two wives have been receiving money from him through a messenger but she has not received any amount from him since he left.
She said “I once heard my co-wife saying our husband sent her N10,000 to feed her children, but he never sent a penny to me, maybe because I don’t have children.”

The complainant said she came to court when she heard the news of her husband in Kaduna during a visit to her uncle’s place.
“I want the court to assist me to know Badamasi’s stand on our marriage, if he is interested in the marriage or not,” she added.
The defendant was personally served court notice but did not show up in court nor sent representative.
The Judge, Malam Musa Sa’ad, adjourned the case until April 18 to give the defendant the chance to come to court and explain himself.
Sa’ad, however, said the court would continue the case even if Ali refused to show up in court as prescribed under Order 9 of Civil Procedure Rules of Kaduna State 2010
