World Iyan Carnival Committee Appreciates Wale Ojo-Lanre’s Support

The founder of the World Iyan Carnival, Prince Ade Ajayi, led a delegation of the event’s Board Members on a courtesy visit to the Bureau of Tourism Development, Ekiti State Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti. The delegation included Dr. Sikiru Olowoyo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti on Agriculture, and Mrs. Ojojolu.

Speaking on behalf of the World Iyan Carnival Committee, Prince Ade Ajayi expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support and contributions of Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, Esq., Director-General of the Bureau of Tourism Development.

“Your dedication and commitment have significantly impacted our mission, and we are truly grateful. Your intellectual contributions played a crucial role in enhancing the carnival, which greatly contributed to its success. We sincerely thank you for your invaluable support,” he stated.

Describing Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre as “a man of inestimable tourism experience and an asset to the nation,” Prince Ajayi commended his visionary leadership and immense contributions to the tourism sector.

In his response, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre expressed joy over the success of the World Iyan Carnival 2024 and pledged continued support for this year’s edition.

He further revealed that Ekiti State would be hosting its first-ever Pounded Yam Tourism Carnival, featuring 1,000 mortars and 2,000 pestles, in celebration of the state’s rich culinary heritage. He emphasized that both the World Iyan Carnival and the Ekiti State Pounded Yam Tourism Carnival serve as cultural blessings, positioning Ekiti as the true home of pounded yam.

Commending Prince Ade Ajayi for his unwavering determination and commitment to the success of the 2024 World Iyan Carnival, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre called on all Ekiti indigenes—both at home and in the diaspora—to return home and invite their friends to experience the state’s unique tourism and cultural heritage.
