19-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Allegedly Raping Minor In Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has arrested a 19-year-old, Emma Ugwunaze, for allegedly raping a minor in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Spokesman of the NSCDC Jigawa State Command, SP Adamu Shehu confirmed this.

He said the incident happened on the 28th of September at Maleka Quarters, Waza village, Birnin Kudu.

Adamu explained that the suspect was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the six-year-old victim of the same address.

“The mother reported that she sent her daughter to buy drugs for her from the suspect’s pharmacy and the girl returned home crying and complaining of pain in her private part and upon inquiry, the girl told her mother that Emma took her to his shop, removed her panties and had canal knowledge of her forcefully,” he stated.

“Afterwards he gave her biscuits not to tell anyone about the incident.”

Adamu said the victim was rushed to the Sexual Assault Referral Center at the General Hospital, Dutse for immediate medical attention.

He said the medical report showed evidence of sexual penetration on the girl’s private part.

The suspect however confessed to the crime and will be charged to a court after investigation.
