The Prosecutor, Miss Asma’u Ado, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 23 at Kura Town, Kano.

Ado said the defendant about 4.00 p.m. allegedly conspired with another 17-year-old minor, to rob one Aisha Muhammad of her cell phone.

The prosecutor alleged that the duo stabbed their victim in the finger with a knife and collected her Vivo handset, whose value was not stated.

She told the court that the other minor would have also been arraigned but he died while receiving treatment for cholera at Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), Kano on Aug. 24.

Ado said the offence contravened Sections 97 and 298 of the Penal Code.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Chief Magistrate Mustapha Sa’ad-Datti, ordered that the case file should be forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.

Sa’ad-Datti adjourned the case until Sept. 14 for mention. (NAN)
