Three suspected vandals were arrested yesterday morning in Kaduna for vandalizing a transformer belonging to Kaduna Electric.
The transformer, located on Sultan Road, feeds the Kaduna residence of President Muhammadu Buhari. The suspects were taken to the Unguwan Rimi police station, and are expected to be charged to court as soon as the police complete their investigation.

A statement by Kaduna Electric’s head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said the miscreants vandalised cables on the transformer which affected power supply to residents feeding from it.
He said the company welcomed the arrest of the suspected vandals saying Kaduna Electric will cooperate with the authorities to ensure they faced justice.
He urged customers to help in the fight against the menace of vandalism, adding that it was one of the major impediments to adequate power supply.
